In his 15-year career in strategic communications, Michael Selvidge has supported bootstrapped startups in stealth, publicly traded companies and everything in between. With a mix of agency and in-house experience, Michael has worked in industries spanning developer tech, enterprise software, SaaS, telecommunications, consumer, gaming and fintech.
Michael has extensive experience with pre-IPO startups, having designed Twilio’s PR strategy from when they were a 35 person company on a single floor to a company with over 350 employees and an international presence. In 2017, while working at Applovin, he coined the term "hyper-casual" - a genre of mobile games that achieved industry-wide adoption within months and is recognized as one of the fastest-growing categories in gaming. Michael is a graduate of UC Santa Cruz, where he studied Sociology and graduated with honors.
He lives in Oakland with his wife, two daughters, two cats, one dog and several guppies. Michael enjoys spending time with his family, playing and listening to music, and honing his masterful command of dad-jokery.
